Historiae Amicus
Memory is a faculty of the human spirit and the instrument man uses to determine how to act in the present on the basis of what has happened in other situations, hence its importance. With this conviction, the orders of Santiago, Calatrava, Alcántara and Montesa instituted a prize to distinguish the wise men of history. The facts have proved them right and their prestige in the scientific world endorses it.
In addition to the Sponsors, the economic basis of the Prize, there are numerous people who are passionate about History who wish to support it because, by recognising the work of researchers, it fills the inexplicable void that existed. Consequently, the History Prize team considers it necessary to complete its support with the so-called Historiae amicus, which will be governed by the appropriate regulations.
v 1º - The Historiae amicus are made up of both natural and legal persons who believe that History is a teacher of life, who are concerned about the distortion of the past due to ideological considerations and who wish to support the Spanish Orders of History Prize by cooperating in linking the international reference of History to Spain and its King.
